Put On Your Seatbelts, It's Going To Be A Bumpy Ride!

George W. Bush, for all his faults, protected this country for the last seven and a half years. Now, as Barack Obama is preparing himself to move into the Oval Office, he is appointing members of his team; those who would help him out in the very stressful position he has just attained. He reached into his bag of former Clintonistas and pulled out the name Leon Panetta to head the Central Intelligence Agency. Panetta, a former professor, representative, and Chief of Staff for President Clinton; has exactly zero intelligence experience.
We live in a dangerous world. We all found this out on September 11, 2001. Unfortunately, terrorists are not the only ones on the list. Iran, North Korea, China, Russia, Venezuela, and a host of other nations pose potential threats to the United States in one form or another. To appoint a man with no intelligence experience as the head of the CIA like waving a red flag in front of a bull. He may as well have appointed me to the post. No, scratch that - it would have been better to appoint me; no one knows who I am.
This is a dangerous game and I do not like the prospects of a secure future in America. The recession will weaken us militarily and will only be made worse by this ridiculous "stimulus" package. The proposed head of the CIA is a know-nothing at best. The proposed Secretary of State has never negotiated with a foreign leader in her life. The proposed HHS director is licking his chops at the thought of a bloated, wasteful, fraud-encrusted Universal Health care Plan. The Speaker of the House is as partisan and unfair as a person can get. The Senate Majority Leader is the worst decision maker on earth. On top of all this, add a President who has practically no experience and you get a recipe for disaster.
It is up to you and me to right the nation. Remember, we do have power here, as scant and fading as it may seem. Thomas Jefferson said it best, "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." We must not remain silent. I will speak out... what will you do?
